Product Area: Client Technical Area: Client UI - Workspace & Desktop Platform: Mac; Windows

SPR# JCHS3WKHCB - This fix prevents a problem which caused workspace icons for flat servers to be incorrectly renamed when a user typed a hierarchical name with the same common name in the Database Open dialog. This problem only occurs with flat IDs.
Technote Number: 1089309

Problem:
This problem occurs only when a Notes Client is changed from a flat to a
hierarchical ID, and then reverts back to a flat ID again. This issue was
reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and was addressed in Notes 4.6.2a Client
and Notes 4.6.3 Client.

Excerpt from Notes/Domino 4.6.2a QMU and 4.6.3 QMR Fix Lists:

Client
SPR# JCHS3WKHCB - Prevent the server part of database filenames stored in
desktop.dsk from being changed to an incorrect hierarchical server name for
non-hierarchical users. [4.6.3.4.6.2a]

This issue was also addressed in Notes 5.0.8 Client.

Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5.0.8 MR fix list (available at
http://www.notes.net):

There are two workarounds:

1. Press F9 so that all references can be found. Then delete EVERY icon that
has an incorrect reference in the Database Properties BEFORE readding any of
them again.

2. (Drastic) Shut down the Notes client software, delete the client's
Desktop.dsk file, and start Notes to generate a new Desktop.dsk file. Then you
must re-add all icons to the desktop.Supporting Information:
